Budget 2010: public service waste and duplication to be cut

Councils, police forces and hospital trusts will be forced to work together as part of a drive to save billions of pounds by avoiding duplication and inefficiencies. A year-long pilot scheme in 13 areas around the country, which identified millions of pounds of potential savings, is being rolled out nationally, ministers announced.
