British Institute of Human Rights launches 'Our Human Rights Stories' website

15 March 2010
www.ourhumanrightsstories.org.uk tells the real life human rights stories of people in the UK. Although these stories are rarely told and often overshadowed, they show how the Human Rights Act can provide a vital lifeline to individuals from all walks of life. From older people in care homes, disabled children being a part of the school community, to women seeking safety these stories highlight how the Human Right Act can offer something for everyone.

Case studies featured on the site:
Learning disabled couple use the Human Rights Act to challenge CCTV placed in their bedroom
Human Rights Act used to enable a mental health patient to get married
Human Rights Act used to stop an older couple being separated
