New Care Quality Commission launches

01 April 2009 The new Care Quality Commission (CQC)is launched today 1st April 2009. The CQC is the new the independent regulator of health and social care in England bringing together regulation of health and adult social care services, whether provided by the NHS, local authorities, private companies or voluntary organisations. THey are also tasked with protecting the rights of people detained under the Mental Health Act.
